.My art is inspired by and celebrates nature. It is my own unique interpretation of colour, texture, line, and form that defines my work. I use thick layers of paint and vibrant complementary colours to emphasize pattern and rhythm -- the medium itself becomes part of this conversation.
I am in awe of nature, of its voice, depth and variation. Whether I paint on location or in my studio I never fail to think about the poetic, and often visual seductiveness of landscapes. I paint from life and from sketches and photographs produced on location during my travels. From Lakes, mountains, coastal areas and semi-deserts, British Columbia never fails to provide endless subjects to explore.
Mediums include oil and acrylic.
I have been interested in art since childhood, but it is only in recent years that I have been fully able to realize my life-long dream of becoming an artist. I have studied visual/fine arts both part-time and full time at Emily Carr University of Design and Art and completed many workshops. I am a strong supporter of the local arts and cultural community and support wildlife conservation projects though my art work.
